Andrew Murphy, MD, FAAAAI, is an allergist at Suburban Allergy Consultants. He provides treatment to patients with allergies and other immune system conditions throughout Narberth, Havertown, West Grove, West Chester, and Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Murphy is a native of Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He completed his medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey in 1992. Then, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, a division of Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, he completed his residency in 1995. Later, he became a fellow in pediatric and adult allergy at the Asthma and Allergic Disease Center of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
After completing his education, Dr. Murphy took on positions with two practices in Maryland that focus on allergies and asthma. Additionally, he provided education to medical students at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He received national recognition for his achievements and was the founding chief of the allergy unit at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital in West Chester. Although he has participated in several well-respected medical associations throughout the years, he joined the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 2010 and remains active with the organization.
As a vital member of the Suburban Allergy Consultants team, Dr. Murphy has over 20 years of experience practicing as an allergist. He is board-certified in allergy and focuses on treating various types of allergies through medication and avoidance. Additionally, Dr. Murphy creates asthma treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
When Dr. Murphy isn’t in the office, he’s in Chester County with his wife Karen and three sons. He also manages to find time to cheer for Penn State's football team and NCAA lacrosse.
